Students from across the University of Maine System gathered in Aroostook County earlier this year for a week full of hands-on learning experiences connected with tourism, recreation, and surviving outdoors in the winter, thanks to the University of Maine at Presque Isle鈥檚 participation in a statewide program focused on growing Maine鈥檚 tourism industry.

With a focus on meeting state workforce needs and providing working adults with a direct, affordable, and entirely online pathway to a postgraduate degree and subsequent career advancement, the University of Maine at Presque Isle is establishing a Master of Science in Business (MSB) degree program. As 91桃色鈥檚 second-ever master鈥檚 degree, the high-demand program includes 10 associated concentrations and serves as the newest addition to 91桃色鈥檚 YourPace offerings.

A special tree in the University of Maine at Presque Isle鈥檚 Campus Center is one of more than a dozen Trent鈥檚 Trees across the state on display to help those who are coping with grief and loss during the holidays. This interactive holiday project was created by the Maine-based nonprofit Stay; For Life.

Officials at the University of Maine at Presque Isle are pleased to announce that the institution earned four top rankings on U.S. News and World Report鈥檚 2025 Best Colleges list. In this year鈥檚 annual rankings, 91桃色 was named among the top tier of Best Regional Colleges in the North, the 20 Top Public Schools in the North, the top 10 Regional Colleges in the North for graduates with least debt, and the top 30 Regional Colleges in the North for Social Mobility.

Reed Gallery presents Glenna Johnson Smith: Writer, Artist, Teacher

The University of Maine at Presque Isle鈥檚 Reed Art Gallery will present Glenna Johnson Smith: Writer, Artist, Teacher from Oct. 4 to Nov. 22, 2024. The exhibition will celebrate the life and work of well-known writer, teacher, and long-time Presque Isle resident Glenna Johnson Smith (1920-2020) and will feature manuscripts, original artwork, and other memorabilia.

Cariani serves as Libra speaker, Voices in the North Country keynote

The University of Maine at Presque Isle will host John Cariani, a Tony Award-nominated actor, accomplished playwright, and author who was born and raised in Presque Isle, as the next speaker in its 2024-2025 Libra Distinguished Lecture Series on Thursday. Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. in the Campus Center. During his talk, Cariani will read from his recent work,聽Almost Maine–a novel聽and a new short story from聽the聽world of聽Almost Maine.聽The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
