91ÌÒÉ« Honors Mi’kmaq & Maliseet Homelands

The University of Maine at Presque Isle recognizes that its facilities and grounds are located on the homelands of Mi’kmaq and Maliseet nations, and they are connected to the other Wabanaki Tribal Nations—the Passamaquoddy and the Penobscot—through kinship, alliances, and diplomacy. It is with great gratitude and humility that we share this land with those who have lived and worked on it from time immemorial.
